PITTSBURGH (March 22, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (0-0-0) officially kicks off its 2018 campaign this weekend, traveling south to face Nashville SC (0-1-0) on Saturday, March 24 at Nissan Stadium. Expected to take place in front of a crowd well north of 15,000 in attendance, first whistle is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Coming off a preseason slate that saw the club finish 8-1, the Hounds open on the road for the first time since the 2014 season. Saturday’s tilt also marks the first against expansion side Nashville SC and is the host’s inaugural season home opener. The USL newcomers opened the season last weekend at reigning champion Louisville City FC, dropping a 2-0 result at Slugger Field.

Among the storylines to keep an eye on, this weekend will mark the regular season debut of head coach Bob Lilley at the helm. Architect of dominant some of the most competitive outfits the league has had to offer in the past few seasons with Rochester, Lilley leads a roster of 23 players in total, numbering six returners and 18 newcomers. Of those six returners, Kevin Kerr is the longest-tenured Hound on the club entering his sixth season in Black and Gold. A steady presence in the midfield, Kerr is fourth all-time in club history in appearances with 131 – only two away from tying Mike Green.

Recently announced for this season, this will be the first of 11 road matches – and 16 games in total – fans will be able to enjoy on Pittsburgh’s CW. Check your local cable listings to ensure you don’t miss any of the action when the Hounds take to the pitch. For fans out of market, the live broadcasts will still be provided on the USL’s YouTube channel.
