ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (March 22, 2018) — Each Thursday throughout the USL season, we’ll highlight the biggest matches of the weekend right here in our weekly USL Look-Ahead.

This weekend, the Rowdies play their home opener against the Bethlehem Steel FC in one of only two matches pitting teams that won in week one against one another.

The Rowdies open their 2018 home slate Saturday night looking to preserve an unbeaten record in home openers in the Modern Era. The Rowdies won last year’s home opener 1-0 over Orlando City B. Tampa Bay picked up three points on the road last weekend with a 3-1 win over North Carolina FC.

Bethlehem has the early lead in the Eastern Conference after an impressive 4-1 win over the Richmond Kickers last weekend. New signing Brandon Allen scored twice in the win.

Louisville City FC vs. North Carolina FC
Saturday, 3 p.m. | WATCH HERE
The defending USL champions opened with a clean 2-0 win over expansion side Nashville SC last weekend.

North Carolina FC plays its first road match in the USL this weekend and faces a tough test in the tight confines of Slugger Field in Louisville. NCFC lost to the Rowdies at home last weekend.

Las Vegas Lights FC vs. Reno 1868 FC

If you’re looking for something to watch after the Rowdies’ match on Saturday night, stay up late and look no further. Las Vegas lost on the road to Fresno FC last weekend, but should be entertaining in its home opener.

Reno lost a shootout 4-3 at home to Swope Park last weekend, a possible sign that Reno will be a high-scoring exciting team once again in 2018.
