PITTSBURGH (March 22, 2018) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC has signed preseason trialist Andrew Lubahn ahead of this Saturday’s season opener at Nashville SC. Last playing for the San Francisco Deltas of the NASL, Lubahn’s contract is for one-year with a club option for the 2019 season, pending USL and USSF approval.

The latest addition bumps the roster to 23 players under contract, as the Hounds are set to open the 2018 campaign against expansion side Nashville SC at 6 p.m. on March 24 at Nissan Stadium.

“Andrew is very capable in any of the wide positions – outside back or outside midfield – so for us, he’s a valuable signing who can contribute in a number of ways,” head coach Bob Lilley said. “He’s a good attacking player going forward who also displays strong decision making.”

With San Francisco in 2017, Lubahn posted an assist in 15 games played. He also brings USL experience, suiting up for Louisville City FC in 2016 and the Harrisburg City Islanders (now known as Penn FC) in 2015. In total, the Erie, Pennsylvania native logged four goals and four assists across 35 appearances while in the USL.

Prior to beginning his professional career in Harrisburg, Lubahn was an All-Conference standout at Wake Forest University, finishing his career with 83 games played (74 starts), 27 goals and 65 points. In addition, his youth career included time with the United States U-14, U-15, U-18 and U-20 National Teams, as well as being captain of the Columbus Crew U-17 team.

Lubahn made four appearances for the Hounds this preseason.

Following this weekend’s tilt at Nashville, the Hounds return to Pittsburgh for their home opener against Penn FC on March 31. Tickets to the match are still available and can be purchased for as low as $13. To secure your spot at Highmark Stadium, visit Riverhounds.com
