Zimbabwean forward recorded 20 regular-season goals in two prior seasons at club

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Penn FC announced on Wednesday the club had signed forward Lucky Mkosana, a move that sees the Zimbabwe international return to Harrisburg having previously spent two successful years with the club earlier in his career.

Mkosana made 41 regular-season appearances for Penn FC – then known as the Harrisburg City Islanders – in the 2012 and 2013 seasons and recorded 20 goals for the club in that span. Mkosana scored at a rate of a goal every 105.65 minutes for the club as he helped it reach the USL Cup Playoffs in both seasons.

The 30-year-old was also part of the club’s run to the Quarterfinals of the 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and was one of the goal-scorers in a 3-1 victory against the New York Red Bulls in the Round of 16.

Mkosana went on to make 94 combined appearances for the Tampa Bay Rowdies and New York Cosmos, winning a pair of championships in New York. Most recently, Mkosana made 15 appearances and scored for IFK Mariehamn in the Finnish Premier League in 2017. He scored also two goals in Finland’s domestic cup, the Suomen Cup, which helped propel IFK Mariehamn to the quarterfinals.
