LAS VEGAS – The passionate and dedicated approach Las Vegas Lights FC's Jose Luis Sánchez Solá has taken in his tenure with the club has earned him a promotion.

After serving as Head Coach previously during his time in Las Vegas, the man commonly known as El Chelís was named as the club's Technical Director on Wednesday evening at Lights FC’s official Season Kickoff Party at Plaza Hotel & Casino. The broadened title better reflects Chelís’ status as leading all aspects of the club’s soccer operations. Prior to his role with Lights FC, Chelis was already well known for being the first individual in history to lead first- and second-division professional soccer clubs in both Mexico and the United States. He also grew his profile as an analyst for several years on Fútbol Picante – a wildly popular daily soccer show on ESPN Deportes.

Also being promoted, Lights FC Assistant Coach Isidro Sánchez will assume the role of Head Coach, effective immediately.

“Today’s announcement brings both Chelis and Isidro’s official titles more in-line with their actual day-to-day roles – and those titles typically utilized in international soccer,” said Lights FC Owner Brett Lashbrook.  "Simply put, I am thrilled to have Chelis & Isidro working side-by-side each other at every Lights FC practice and match for the 2018 USL season and beyond.”

Isidro Sánchez began his coaching career in 2013 with Major League Soccer's Chivas USA, and previously served as Head Coach in Mexico's second division in 2015 with C.F. Real Cuautitlán. His coaching career came on the heels of a professional playing career, both in Liga MX with Puebla FC and as part of Canada’s Youth National Team program.

Lights FC begins its inaugural season in the USL on Saturday night at 7 p.m. PT against Fresno FC at Chukchansi Park. The club's first regular season home match at Cashman Field takes place Saturday, March 24, at 8 p.m. PT against in-state rival Reno 1868 FC.
