Generation adidas signings arrive from MLS partner FC Dallas ahead of new season

OKLAHOMA CITY – OKC Energy FC announced on Friday it had added forwards Francis Atuahene and Ema Twumasi on loan from Major League Soccer partner FC Dallas. Both former Premier Development League standouts were First Round draft choices by Dallas in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft.

A former standout for the Michigan Bucks, Atuahene was the No. 1 Junior prospect in the PDL in 2017. The Ghanaian also played three seasons at the University of Michigan and scored 24 goals and added 11 assists in 49 matches for the Wolverines from 2015 to 2017. A Generation adidas signing after his Junior season, Atuahene was selected with the No. 4 pick of this past January’s SuperDraft.

A fellow Ghanaian, Twumasi featured in the PDL for GPS Portland Phoenix, was selected 11th overall in the SuperDraft, also as a Generation adidas signing. Twumasi featured prominently at Wake Forest University, where he made 47 appearances over two seasons and scored 16 goals and added 11 assists.

Both Atuahene and Twumasi have joined Energy FC for its preseason training in Tucson, Ariz. as they look to add to an attack that is also set to feature former USL Most Valuable Player Jose Angulo in the new season.
