OTTAWA – Ottawa Fury FC announced on Monday it had signed Panamanian international Tony Taylor, pending league and federation approval, adding to an attack that is set to return leading scorer Steevan Dos Santos and Sito Seoane this season.

“We’re thrilled to have Tony join Ottawa Fury FC,” said Fury FC General Manager Julian de Guzman. “Tony has shown great promise already and his experience makes him a valuable addition to our club and the model of play we will be using. We look forward to see him continue to develop into the great footballer we know he can become.”

The 28-year-old brings more than 100 games of professional experience to Ottawa’s attack, having most recently spent the 2017 season with Jacksonville Armada FC where he recorded three goals and two assists in 12 contests. Taylor’s professional resume also includes stops in Major League Soccer, competing for the New England Revolution in 2014 before joining New York City FC for the club’s first two season in MLS. Taylor began his professional career in Europe, where he played in both Cyprus (Omonoia Nicosia) and Portugal (Estoril Praia, Atletico CP and Pacos de Ferreira).

A former PDL player while he competed at both the University of South Florida and Jacksonville University collegiately, Taylor featured for the United States U20 at the 2009 FIFA U20 World Cup and scored in a 4-1 victory against Cameroon in the group stage. Of Panamanian descent, Taylor was called up by the Panama Men’s National Team in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Mexico in 2016. He has since made two more appearances for Panama at the 2017 Copa Centroamericana.
