CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Charleston Battery announced on Wednesday the club had signed former Seattle Sounders FC winger Victor Mansaray for the 2018 season, pending league and federation approval.

Mansaray spent the 2017 season on loan with FC Cincinnati and Seattle Sounders FC 2 prior to joining Swedish club Umeå FC in August. The 20-year old played a combined 10 matches for FCC and S2 last season before scoring one goal in seven appearances for Umeå FC in the final two months of its season.

A former U.S. U20 National Team player, Mansaray was named the No. 1 player in the 2016 USL 20 Under 20 as he featured prominently for Seattle Sounders FC 2. Overall, Mansaray has made 46 appearances in the USL, scoring five goals and two assists.

Mansaray joined Seattle as a Homegrown Player in November of 2014 at the age of 17, making him the youngest player ever to sign with the Sounders. The winger also became the youngest player in franchise history to play in a match when he made his first MLS appearance for Seattle months after signing.
