ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Saint Louis FC announced on Sunday it had signed U.S. Youth Internationals Aedan Stanley and Jack Maher and goalkeeper Seth Stiebel to Academy contracts for the 2018 USL season.

“We're delighted to welcome Aedan, Jack and Seth into the first-team squad,” said STLFC Head Coach Anthony Pulis. “I've heard great things from the staff that have worked with them here in the Academy and the interactions I've had with them have been positive. A big ‘well done’ to all the Academy staff that have worked with these boys to help them reach this stage in their development.”

Stanley returns for his third season as an Academy signing for STLFC, having made his debut against OKC Energy FC in the 2016 season. Stanley made six appearances for the club during the 2017 season and recorded 14 clearances and 11 interceptions. Stanley was last month named in the U.S U20 Men’s National Team squad for the Youth National Team Summit in Lakewood Ranch, Fla., having previously represented the U.S. at the U18 level.

Maher joined Stanley at training camp with the U.S. U20 National Team in January having made his debut for STLFC late last season against Bethlehem Steel FC. Maher has also represented the U.S. Men’s National Team at U18 level and joined teammate Stanley on the 2017 Youth All-American team.

Stiebel has played for the Saint Louis FC Academy U19 team and put in a notable performance for the Academy U18 team against the U.S. Men’s National U17 Team in an exhibition last October at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis. During a penalty shootout, Stiebel found the top corner with his spot kick and then denied the next attempt to earn his side victory.

“The real work starts now and it's down to them to make the most of it and grab the opportunity with both hands,” said Pulis. “They will train with us every day and will get opportunities in games if they deserve it. I think it is a great statement to all our STLFC & Saint Louis Scott Gallagher Academy players to show that if you work hard, show the right mentality and perform well consistently there is a pathway for you to the first-team squad.”
