VX Sport becomes Official Team Performance Monitoring Supplier across all league properties

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer Leagues, LLC, today announced VX Sport as the Official Team Performance Monitoring Supplier. Financial terms of the two-year agreement were not disclosed. VX Sport will be an official supplier for all related properties, including the United Soccer League – one of the most prominent Division II professional leagues in the world – USL’s Division III, the Premier Development League (PDL) and the Super Y League.

“VX Sport is a leader in the athlete performance monitoring industry, and we are thrilled to have them join our Preferred Supplier Program,” said USL President Jake Edwards. “As USL continues to grow, it is imperative that our clubs understand the importance of athlete data and its impact not only on player performance but also player safety. As a specialist in the sports environment and a company with deep firsthand experience in our league, VX Sport will continue to serve as an excellent resource.”

VX Sport’s wearable technology is recognized globally for providing the most accurate and reliable data to improve athletic performance and reduce injuries. VX Sport offers professional level accuracy across its whole product range, with no loss of quality. Combining the tracking of physical and readiness data with simple planning tools, VX Sport empowers coaches to improve performance and is used by top professional clubs across the world, including the USL’s San Antonio FC.

“San Antonio and VX Sport formed a partnership in January of 2017, with a focus on building a more robust performance model through the use of GPS technology,” said Steve Gisselman, Sports Performance Coach at VX Sport. “The system purchased allowed them the ability to track each of their athletes throughout the entirety of the season. The success of the implementation was, and is, directly related to the open line of communication maintained throughout the season between the coaching staff and VX Sport. The efforts of SAFC, from the coaching staff, to the support staff, to the players, made the GPS tracking a truly worthwhile endeavor.”

“VX Sport has been a great addition to our team this past year,” said SAFC Head Coach Darren Powell. “Our ability to provide the players and staff with actual and objective information related to the player and team performance has been invaluable. We are really pleased to work together with the professional staff at VX Sport to continually develop the information we receive.”

Over the next five years, the USL will oversee the expansion of an estimated 30–40 new franchises at the second and third divisions of professional soccer, creating numerous opportunities for potential suppliers and vendors to support this growth.

Through its Preferred Supplier Program, the USL will connect suppliers with both new franchise owners and existing USL clubs looking to deliver the best possible experience for fans. Preferred suppliers must meet the USL’s strict quality standards. These are “Best in Class” companies that provide services and products to professional franchises and stadium developers. The USL is currently in discussions with suppliers that support stadium development, as well as the buildout of team front offices and operations.
