KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The 2017 USL Western Conference champion Swope Park Rangers announced end of season roster moves on Wednesday, with midfielder Lebo Moloto leading seven players currently set to return to the club for the 2018 season.
Moloto was joined by goalkeeper Darrin MacLeod and defenders Dakota Barnathan and Parker Maher in having his contract option exercised by the Rangers, while midfielders Wan Kuzain, Will Little and Felipe Hernandez remained under contract for the upcoming season.
The 27-year-old Moloto finished third on the Rangers with seven goals in the 2017 USL season, and recorded four assists for the club. A former member of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Moloto was joined by Maher and Barnathan in the Rangers’ starting lineup for the 2017 USL Cup earlier this month.
The Rangers have also extended new contract offers to midfielder Christian Duke and forward Nansel Selbol, both of whom had standout seasons in the past year. Duke appeared in every game of the season and captained the Rangers to a second consecutive Western Conference championship, while Selbol finished second on the team with nine goals.
The club also announced it had declined contract options on goalkeeper David Grezcek, defenders Joe Amico and Liam Doyle and midfielder Robert Mirosavic. Defender Oumar Ballo and forward Mark Anthony Gonzalez are also out of contract.
