USL Fans’ Choice Save of the Month Finalists – October

  • Matt Perrella (PGH) - #PGHvROC, 10/7/17 – Perrella made a big double-save to deny the Rochester Rhinos’ Jochen Graf, first turning away a powerful header before recovering for a rebound chance that glanced off the frame.

  • Mark Village (VAN) - #SLCvVAN, 10/7/17 – Village produced an excellent low save with his right hand to keep out an angled shot to the left corner by Real Monarchs SLC winger Daniel Haber.

  • Josh Cohen (PHX) - #PHXvRGV, 10/7/17 – Cohen went at full stretch to preserve a shutout as a curling shot by Rio Grande Valley FC’s Todd Wharton looked destined for the top-left corner of the net.

  • Wade Hamilton (POR) - #PHXvPOR, 10/14/17 – Hamilton’s scrambling low save kept out a good free kick by Phoenix Rising FC’s Didier Drogba, and ensured there would be no rebound opportunity for the hosts.

  • Evan Newton (SAC) - #RNOvSAC, 10/14/17 – Newton made two excellent saves in succession, first getting down to stop Reno 1868 FC’s Luis Felipe Fernandes from long range, and then Brent Richards’ header as 1868 FC tried to follow up.
