FENTON, Mo. – Matthew Bolduc struck less than a minute into the second half to lead the visiting Richmond Kickers to a 1-0 victory over Saint Louis FC at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis on Saturday. The hosts outshot the Kickers, 12-5, and held Richmond without an attempt on target during the opening 45 minutes but a turnover at midfield just after the restart helped turn the tide. Richmond pounced on the loose ball and quickly launched a counter attack that was capped off when Jackson Eskay slid in Bolduc who was able to sneak his effort under a diving Devala Gorrick for his second goal of the season. The Kickers continued to pressure the Saint Louis goal and William Yomby nearly doubled the lead off a feed from Bolduc in the 50th minute, but his header was cleared off the line. The hosts were denied a potential equalizer in the 77th minute when substitute Max Alvarez saw his left-footed effort deflect just wide of the post. Neither side managed a shot on frame over the final 10 minutes as Richmond held on to move to 8-15-8 overall (32pts). Saint Louis FC fell to 9-14-8 on the season (35pts).

Three Things That Matter:

• 1. The Kickers have come out on top in two of their last three road games after opening the season winless in their first 13 appearances away from home. Travis Worra made four saves to keep a clean sheet on Saturday and despite the lack of results, Richmond is now tied for fifth in the Eastern Conference with three shutouts on the road this season. Overall, the side has saved its best form for the final quarter of the season, posting five victories in eight matches since August 19 after totaling three through the first 23 outings.  
   
• 2. Saint Louis finished the night with 18 shot attempts but suffered a fate similar to many of Richmond’s opponents over the last 10 weeks, as the Kickers’ defense refused to relent. Head Coach Leigh Cowlishaw’s side has now allowed one goal or less in 11 of its last 12 matches – a stretch that includes four shutouts.
   
• 3. It was the second consecutive scoreless outing for a Saint Louis FC side that had scored at least one goal in 10-straight matches prior to the current drought. The loss marks the conclusion of the team’s home schedule with STLFC finishing with just one win in its final five meetings with conference opponents at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis.
