Three Things That Matter:

  • 1. Reno has already clinched its spot in the USL Cup Playoffs and broke the single-season goals scored record this season, but the club continues to produce. 1868 FC now has 69 goals scored this campaign, and the club has three games remaining in the regular season to add to that number.
  • 2. While both Dane Kelly and Antoine Hoppenot each scored two goals against Portland, Lindo Mfeka impressed yet again. The midfielder, who scored a hat trick for the club in his last outing, provided one assist and scored one goal on Saturday. He also completed 82.1 percent of his passes on the evening and helped out on the defensive end when needed.
  • 3. After playing the role of spoiler in its last outing, Portland was unable to continue its success against the Western Conference’s top sides on Saturday. The club was able to frustrate Real Monarchs SLC on Sept. 8, playing to a 0-0 draw at Providence Park, but Reno’s attack was too much too handle, as the team’s back line struggled to stop 1868 FC’s number of quality forwards and attacking midfielders.
