Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 12-11-4, 40pts

  • The Roughnecks suffered a 2-0 loss to Black Gold derby rivals OKC Energy FC last Sunday night at Taft Stadium in their last outing.

  • Tulsa dominated possession in the match, recording 67.1 percent of possession, but was unable to overcome an early two-goal deficit as OKC struck twice inside the opening 15 minutes to take a decisive advantage.

  • The loss to Energy FC ended a three-game undefeated streak for the Roughnecks, but despite the defeat the side sits in seventh place in the USL Western Conference.

  • Tulsa has not suffered back-to-back defeats since a three-game losing streak that saw the side fall twice to the Swope Park Rangers and once to San Antonio FC between June 11-27.

  • Since that three-game losing streak the Roughnecks have posted a 7-3-4 record that includes victories against Western Conference-leader Real Monarchs SLC and Phoenix Rising FC.

LA Galaxy II news and notes

  • Current record: 7-15-5, 26pts

  • The Galaxy II fell 2-1 to Northern California rivals Sacramento Republic FC last Saturday night at Papa Murphy's Park in their most recent outing.

  • Los Dos opened the scoring through Ethan Zubak, who scored the fastest goal in USL history just 10 seconds into the match with a stunning volleyed finish.

  • The goal was Zubak's fourth of the season, which doubles the 2017 USL 20 Under 20 selection's total from a season ago. The 19-year-old has also notched three assists on the year.

  • The Galaxy II are winless in their last three games, and would be mathematically eliminated from a fourth consecutive trip to the USL Cup Playoffs with a defeat on Saturday.

Series Notes

  • The Roughnecks have never beaten the Galaxy II, with Los Dos holding a 3-0-2 lead in the all-time series after the sides played to a 2-2 draw at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium on July 13.
