TAMPA, Fla. – LA Galaxy II forward Ethan Zubak has earned the USL Fans’ Choice Goal of the Week for Week 26 of the 2017 season, as his goal after 10 seconds that set a record as the fastest in USL history last Saturday night against Sacramento Republic FC at Papa Murphy’s Park took top spot in the weekly online poll.
The No. 3 player in the 2017 USL 20 Under 20, Zubak’s fourth goal of the campaign was his best of the season. Winning a challenge for a long ball with Republic FC defender Chris Christian, the ball set up perfectly for the 19-year-old U.S. youth international to fire home a volley into the left corner of the net and write his name in the USL Record Book.
Zubak’s goal earned 41 percent of the poll conducted online at USLSoccer.com that concluded on Thursday morning. FC Cincinnati’s Harrison Delbridge finished second for his outstanding finish in FCC’s 4-2 victory against the New York Red Bulls II, while Sacramento Republic FC’s Luis Espino took third for his goal in his debut that paved the way to a 2-1 comeback victory for Republic FC against the Galaxy II.
