Playoff implications on the line as Saint Louis hosts Orlando

ST.  LOUIS – Saint Louis FC welcomes Orlando City B to Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis on Saturday night in a match with significant USL Cup Playoffs implications as five points separate eighth-place OCB and 11th-place Saint Louis in the Eastern Conference standings. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Saint Louis FC news and notes

  • Current record: 8-12-7, 31pts

  • Saint Louis FC suffered a 2-1 defeat to the Harrisburg City Islanders last Saturday in its last outing as it conceded in stoppage time at Toyota Stadium – Saint Louis.

  • Christian Volesky notched a second-half equalizer for Saint Louis after the visitors had taken the lead, but a late goal by Pedro Ribeiro for the City Islanders earned his side victory.

  • With the loss Saint Louis’ winless run now stands at four matches (0-2-2), the club's second-longest such streak of the season.

  • Ivan Mirkovic and Konrad Plewa are unavailable for Saturday's game as they both serve suspensions for yellow card accumulation.

Orlando City B news and notes

  • Current record: 8-7-12, 36pts

  • Orlando saw its 12-game undefeated streak come to an end in its last outing on Sept. 7 as the Richmond Kickers struck twice late in the first half to earn a 2-0 victory at Orlando City Stadium. 

  • OCB has not lost consecutive matches since falling to Ottawa Fury FC on June 20th, its second match on a Canadian road trip, after losing to Toronto FC II six days prior.

  • Orlando now sits in the eighth and final playoff position in the USL Eastern Conference, level on points with seventh-place FC Cincinnati and two points ahead of both Bethlehem Steel FC and the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.

  • OCB has recorded six road wins so far this season, tied for fourth in the USL. The club is also one draw away from tying the USL regular-season record of 13, set by OKC Energy FC a season ago.
