BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bethlehem Steel FC announced on Thursday that midfielder Chris Wingate will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a knee injury in training.
Wingate will undergo surgery to repair a partially torn ACL in his left knee sustained in a training session two weeks ago. Wingate and the medical staff have closely monitored the injury and have determined that surgery would provide the best outcome.
A rookie from Hovik, Norway, Wingate appeared in six matches in 2017 for Steel FC. The 23-year-old started five matches, notching his professional debut against the Charleston Battery on May 6.
