Top-three Western showdown set for Papa Murphy’s Park

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento Republic FC welcomes San Antonio FC to Papa Murphy’s Park on Saturday night in a top-three clash in the USL Western Conference that sees the visitors looking to rebound from their first loss of the season. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. PT.

  • Sacramento recorded its third consecutive league victory last Sunday evening as it took a 3-2 victory against the LA Galaxy II at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.

  • Trevin Caesar scored his fourth goal in the past two games, while Jeremy Hall and Tyler Blackwood also found the net in the victory.

  • Republic FC saw its run in the 2017 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup come to an end on Wednesday night when it fell in the Round of 16 to the LA Galaxy.

  • San Antonio suffered its first defeat of the season last Saturday night as it fell 1-0 to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field.

  • The loss brought SAFC’s 14-game undefeated start to the season to an end. The streak was the fourth-longest to start a season in the USL’s history.

  • San Antonio will be without goalkeeper Diego Restrepo after his red card against the Switchbacks, which could result in a first USL start for goalkeeper Lee Johnston.

  • SAFC sits three point back of Real Monarchs SLC for first place in the Western Conference going into Saturday night’s games.
