The Charleston Battery’s Romario Williams, who currently leads the league with 13 goals in the 2017 season, is among four current USL players called into Jamaica’s squad for the 2017 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Williams is joined by Bethlehem Steel FC’s Cory Burke, the Rochester Rhinos’ Sergio Campbell and the Tampa Bay Rowdies’ Damion Lowe in the 23-man roster announced on Thursday by CONCACAF.

Williams has scored 23 goals over two seasons with the Battery, with the standout striker currently with the club on loan from the club’s MLS partner Atlanta United FC. The 22-year-old has averaged a goal every 84.3 minutes this season in Charleston, leading the Battery to the top of the Eastern Conference with the most potent attack in the USL.

Burke joins Williams in Jamaica’s attacking contingent after earning regular call-ups over the past year. The 25-year-old has recorded six goals for Steel FC since joining the club prior to its inaugural season in 2016, and recorded his first goal for Jamaica against Guyana last October in a Caribbean Cup Qualifying contest.

Lowe and Campbell joined Burke last week in Jamaica’s squad for the Caribbean Cup Finals in Martinique, with both defenders seeing action as the Reggae Boyz reached the final before falling to Curaçao. Lowe has had a standout season so far in his first year with the Rowdies, making 13 appearances between time on international duty and recording one goal, 58 interceptions and a 79.2 tackle success rate.

Campbell, who joined the Rhinos this offseason after having previously competed for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, has made 32 appearances in his USL career. This season in four appearances for the Rhinos, Campbell has notched an 85.7 pass completion rate, and won 63.6 percent of his duels.

Jamaica kicks off the Gold Cup on Sunday, July 9 as it faces Curaçao in its opening Group C game. The Reggae Boyz will then face Mexico on July 13, and close the group stage with El Salvador on July 16.
