Roughnecks return to action to host Rangers

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa Roughnecks FC return to action as it welcomes the Swope Park Rangers to ONEOK Field on Tuesday night with the Roughnecks looking to jump back into the top eight, and the Rangers aiming to build on their four-game undefeated streak. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. CT.

Tulsa Roughnecks FC news and notes

  • Current record: 5-7-0, 15pts

  • The Roughnecks are on a two-game losing streak coming into the contest after falling 3-1 to San Antonio FC on June 17 at Toyota Field.

  • Joaquin Rivas broke San Antonio’s shutout streak at 672 minutes as he leveled the scored in the first half, but Kris Tyrpak’s brace lifted the hosts to victory.

  • Tulsa has struggled defensively over the past month, with its 4-0 win against Orange County on May 13 the last league outing that saw the side record a shutout. It has conceded 14 goals in its last five games.

  • Juan Pablo Caffa remains among the league’s leading playmakers. The Argentinian is tied for ninth in the USL with 26 chances created in addition to four goals and three assists this season.

Swope Park Rangers news and notes

  • Current record: 6-4-2, 20pts

  • The Rangers rallied to earn a 2-1 victory against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC last Wednesday night, giving the side eight points from its past four games.

  • Christian Duke’s second goal of the season provided the game-winner after Liam Doyle had equalized midway through the second half at Children’s Mercy Victory Field.

  • Tuesday night’s game opens a busy week for the Rangers, who also visit the LA Galaxy II on Friday night at StubHub Center Track and Field Stadium.

  • The Rangers would move into the top four of the Western Conference with a win on Tuesday night, with games in hand on those above them.
