CINCINNATI – FC Cincinnati announced on Monday the club’s second international exhibition against a top side from Europe, with Valencia from Spain’s La Liga set to be the club’s guests on July 24 at Nippert Stadium. Cincinnati Bell will again be the game’s presenting sponsor, which will kick off at 7 p.m. ET.

“To attract a club of Valencia’s magnitude speaks to the passion our fans and our city have demonstrated for the game of soccer,” said FCC President and General Manager, Jeff Berding. “La Liga is the top league in Spain and one of the best in the world with renowned players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the league. Valencia itself is a world-renowned team that has won La Liga six times, Copa Del Rey seven times and captured seven European trophies.

“We are beyond thrilled to be able to bring Valencia, who boast former Manchester United player Nani, to Cincinnati and treat our fans to what will be a spectacular event. We would like to thank Cincinnati Bell for being the presenting sponsor and are appreciative of their continued support and partnership.”

One of Spain’s most historic clubs, Valencia has claimed success both domestically and in international competition. The side has won La Liga six times, and the Copa Del Rey on seven occasions, while also winning both the UEFA Cup – the predecessor to the UEFA Europa League – and twice reaching the final of the UEFA Champions League. Among the players to have competed for the club is current New York City FC standout David Villa, who recorded more than 100 goals for Los Murciélagos during his time with the club. Valencia has also been managed by the likes of Rafa Benitez, Claudio Ranieri and Ronald Koeman, with the club’s Mestalla Stadium one of most historic in Europe.

“FC Cincinnati continues to do a tremendous job of engaging soccer fans across Greater Cincinnati,” said Leigh Fox, president and CEO of Cincinnati Bell Inc. “Our customers and our employees are excited about the team, and Cincinnati Bell is proud to support FC Cincinnati as a sponsor for this great event.”

In the club’s inaugural season, FCC drew more than 35,000 fans to a mid-summer match against the Premier League’s Crystal Palace FC, producing a game-day atmosphere that was compared to an FA Cup final by then-manager Alan Pardew. FCC lost the match 2-0 but took the pitch against stars such as Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend.

General admission tickets for the match will be available for as low as $15 with the average ticket price less than $25.

Season ticket holders will have priority to secure tickets for the match. A two-week window will be launched during which season ticket holders can purchase their same seat locations as well as exercise the option of buying additional tickets by logging into their online account or by speaking directly to the FCC sales team (513-977-KICK).

Following the priority window for season ticket holders, all fans who have secured a six-match mini plan for the 2017 season and 2018 deposit holders will be invited to capitalize on dedicated pre-sale days to purchase tickets.

The general public on-sale date will be announced following the launch of the season ticket holders’ window.
