Riverhounds aim to continue three-game winning streak as Louisville visits

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Riverhounds will try to equal its longest winning streak in the USL era on Saturday night when it welcomes Louisville City FC to Highmark Stadium in a top-four clash in the USL’s Eastern Conference. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.

Pittsburgh Riverhounds news and notes

  • Current record: 4-3-2, 14pts

  • The Riverhounds recorded their third consecutive 1-0 victory last Saturday afternoon as they defeated Ottawa Fury FC at TD Place.

  • Corey Hertzog scored his fifth goal of the season early in the second half to lift the Riverhounds into third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

  • Pittsburgh can equal its best run of form in the USL era on Saturday with a win, which would equal the club’s four-game winning streak between July 21 and August 3, 2013.

  • Only Kevin Kerr and Michael Green remain as member of the club’s 2013 squad, which also included current D.C. United midfielder Rob Vincent and Saint Louis FC forward Jose Angulo.

Louisville City FC and notes

  • Current record: 3-1-3, 12pts

  • Louisville fell for the first time this season as the Tampa Bay Rowdies took a 2-0 victory at Al Lang Stadium last Saturday night.

  • The game marked the first time since July 30, 2016 that Louisville had conceded more than one goal in a USL regular season or postseason contest.

  • Louisville rebounded strongly at Highmark Stadium on Wednesday, as the Riverhounds’ venue played host to City’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup clash with Tartan Devils Oak Avalon.

  • Cameron Lancaster had two goals and one assist as Louisville routed the amateur side 9-0, which set a club record for goals in a single game for City.
