The introduction of the gold and white stripes down the front of the blue jersey are an excellent addition, and will have 2016 USL Most Valuable Player Finalist Enzo Martinez and his teammates looking good on the field all year as they pursue a second consecutive postseason berth.
The Charleston Battery’s iconic Black and Gold got a new look for the new season, with the traditional stripes making way for one of Nike’s more modern designs.
The colors are what make the jersey, though, with the Battery’s 25th season seeing the club enter its silver anniversary in the style its fans have become accustomed to.
San Antonio FC introduced its new road uniforms this offseason to big applause from its fans, and the Nike design with silver sleeves accompanying the white body brings shades fits perfectly into the Spurs Sports & Entertainment family of designs.
As it goes in pursuit of its first berth in the USL Cup Playoffs, SAFC will have a clean, fresh look for the new season.
As iconic as the Battery’s Black and Gold have been to the USL over the past 25 years, the Green and Gold of the Tampa Bay Rowdies has been a mainstay in North American soccer for more than 40 years.
Nike’s hooped design – a play off the first iteration of the club’s hooped sleeves – fits perfectly with the tradition of the jersey, and is immediately recognizable by fans across the country.
