BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bethlehem Steel FC announced on Monday the selection of 2016 PDL All-Eastern Conference selection Santi Moar. The deal is pending league and federation approval.

We hope that he will compete to start right away."
A fourth-round selection by the Philadelphia Union in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft, Moar led the PDL’s Charlotte Eagles to a South Atlantic Division title with eight goals and four assists in the 2016 season. In his junior season, Moar recorded 10 goals and 14 assists) in 24 appearances, and helped the side claim the NCAA Division II National Championship. Last fall, Moar recorded 14 goals and a team-high 19 assists in 20 appearances as the side earned a third consecutive Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship.
“When you are playing in college soccer, you always hope that you can become a professional and take that next step and luckily Bethlehem Steel FC gave me this opportunity,” Moar said. “I believe Bethlehem will be a great place for me. [Steel FC] Coach [Brendan] Burke and [Philadelphia Union Sporting Director] Earnie Stewart have shown great confidence in me and that makes this decision even easier.”
Steel FC opens the 2017 USL regular season on April 1 when it hosts the Rochester Rhinos.
