CHICAGO – 2016 USL Cup champion Tyler Adams of the New York Red Bulls II and former Charleston Battery loanee Jeremy Ebobisse lead a group of 10 players with USL experience named to a 24-player squad that convenes today at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif.

The camp, which runs through January 23, continues the group’s preparations for the 2017 CONCACAF U20 Championship in Costa Rica next month, which also serves as qualifying for the FIFA U20 World Cup this May. The U20s will also meet for a training camp on January 31-February 10 in Orlando, Fla. ahead of its opening group game in Costa Rica against Panama on February 18.

“We are very excited to be getting closer to competing for a U20 World Cup spot,” Ramos said. “We are now working with players within our core group of 35, and I am confident that with the hard work during this camp we will be closer to achieving our goals.”

Adams, who helped the Red Bulls II earn both the USL Cup and regular season championship last season, scored his first goal for the U20s last month when the side visited Costa Rica for a pair of games against the CONCACAF Championship hosts. The No. 5 selection in the 2016 USL 20 Under 20, Adams was the first signing in Red Bulls II history ahead of their inaugural season in 2015, and has made 29 regular-season appearances for the side in the past two years.

Ebobisse also scored against Costa Rica last month, and on Friday was selected by the Portland Timbers in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft after making his professional debut for the Battery late last season in the USL. Ebobisse had a goal and assist in five regular-season appearances for the Battery.

Other notables named to the squad include FC Dallas midfielder Coy Craft, who was named the No. 11 selection on the 2016 USL 20 Under 20 after a series of strong performance on loan for OKC Energy FC.

Other players selected include defenders Auston Trusty (Bethlehem Steel FC) and Hugo Arellano (LA Galaxy II), with Arellano’s signing as a Homegrown Player by the Galaxy being announced this past Friday. Red Bulls II Academy signing Marcello Borges, Orlando City SC’s Tommy Redding and former Real Monarchs SLC loanee Justen Glad are also included in the defensive contingent.

The Monarchs also have a pair of former loanees named in the midfield group, with Real Salt Lake’s Danilo Acosta and Sebastian Saucedo rounding out the players with USL experience named to the squad.
