Battery Duo Named in Trinidad & Tobago World Cup Qualifying Squad

Hackshaw, Guerra joined by Orange County’s Caesar for games against Costa Rica, Honduras

The Charleston Battery’s Neveal Hackshaw and Ataullah Guerra and Orange County Blues FC’s Trevin Caesar have all been named in Trinidad & Tobago’s squad for the country’s opening two games in the final stage of CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying this week.

The Soca Warriors will host Costa Rica at Hasely Crawford Stadium on Friday night before travelling to face Honduras in San Pedro Sula next Tuesday.

Hackshaw made 22 appearances for the Battery this season, as the holding midfielder helped the side earn its sixth consecutive berth in the USL Cup Playoffs. The 21-year-old has previously made four appearances for his country.

Guerra was named to the squad after recording one goal and two assists in 26 appearances for the Battery this season. The 28-year-old recorded almost 2,000 minutes of action in his first season for the Battery, and has previously made 40 appearances for the Soca Warriors.

Caesar led Orange County with 10 goals in the regular season, as his pair of tallied in the final game of the regular season earned the Blues back-to-back USL Cup Playoffs appearances for the first time in their history. Caesar has made 11 appearances in his international career for Trinidad & Tobago.

Trinidad & Tobago’s game with Costa Rica kicks off at 6 p.m. ET on Friday night, and will be aired live on BeINSports. Tuesday’s game against Honduras is set for a 5:05 p.m. ET kickoff.
