NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Arriving in his new position as CEO of Nashville SC, Court Jeske has one principal goal driving the decisions that lie ahead for the USL expansion side.

“Our priority is to build this club with the fans in mind,” Jeske told BusinessOfSoccer.com’s Wes Harris on Monday. “So right now we are busy engaging the community, making sure that the people in Nashville understand what we’re doing. That people understand that this is an opportunity for them to be a part of the next professional franchise in Nashville. Everything we do will be true to our motto, ‘Our town. Our club.’”

Jeske joined Nashville SC, which will embark on its inaugural USL season in 2018, after a successful career with Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing. Most recently acting as SUM’s Vice President of International Business, Jeske saw the challenge of building a team from the ground up as an appealing one as the club makes the move to the professional ranks.

“This is an incredible entrepreneurial opportunity and won’t be like anything I’ve ever done before,” Jeske told Harris. “While I’m incredibly proud of my time at MLS, this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up, because it’s the chance to build a professional soccer club brick by brick, hire by hire to make it something very special that is woven into the fabric of the community. Those kinds of opportunities don’t come around often in sports.”

As Nashville builds out its front office, Jeske’s focus is also firmly fixed on finding a home venue for the club’s long-term future. While the 2018 season may seem a long way off, Jeske believes getting a solid platform in place to build on is essential to the club’s overall goals.

“We’re working with the Mayor’s administration on a couple of opportunities and that is the work that we have to do very soon to make sure we have appropriate places to play,” Jeske told Harris. “Nashville has a tremendous sense of cooperation among those different levels of people and I know by working together we’ll be able to find the appropriate solution for everyone.”
