2015 USL All-League selection tallies in United’s 2-2 draw with Chicago

Former Pittsburgh Riverhounds standout Rob Vincent scored his first goal for D.C. United on Friday night as the Eastern Conference playoff contenders played to a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park.

Vincent’s goal opened the scoring in the 19th minute, as D.C. took advantage of being awarded an indirect free kick just outside the Fire six-yard area, and Vincent drove home a shot off a tap pass by Luciano Acosta for his first tally for the club.

A 2015 All-League selection in the USL after recording 18 goals and six assists for the Riverhounds a season ago, Vincent was signed by D.C. this offseason and made his debut for the club in the CONCACAF Champions League this past March. The native of Liverpool has been in and out of the lineup in his first season in MLS, but recently has become a more consistent presence in Coach Ben Olsen’s starting lineup, starting four of D.C.’s past five contests.

United needed a stoppage-time goal by Bobby Boswell to claim a point on the road against the Fire, but now sit just ahead of Orlando City SC in the race for the final place in the Eastern Conference playoffs with five games to go in the regular season. Full highlights can be seen below.
