Red Bulls II look to extend winning streak to seven, close on regular season title

MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The New York Red Bulls II can pull within a point of claiming the USL regular season championship on Wednesday evening as they look to continue a six-game winning streak in a visit to face the Harrisburg City Islanders at Millersville University. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. ET.

Harrisburg City Islanders news and notes

  • Current record: 7-14-6, 27pts
  • Harrisburg played to a 2-2 draw with Bethlehem Steel FC in its last outing, further dimming the club’s chances of reaching the postseason.
  • Craig Foster scored a late equalizer for the City Islanders against the Steel, but the side remains five points back of eighth place with three games remaining.
  • Foster now leads the City Islanders with seven goals this season, and has scored 15 times for the club over his two seasons in Harrisburg.

  • The Red Bulls II extended their winning streak to six games with a 2-0 victory against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday afternoon.
  • The win moved New York six points clear of second-place Lousiville, and the side now needs only four points from its final four games to clinch the USL regular season championship.
  • Brandon Allen found the net against the Steel, and has scored four goals in the past five games to move into a tie for fourth for the USL Golden Boot with 13 goals this season.
  • The Red Bulls II became the first side in the USL to reach 50 goals this season on Sunday. The league record for goals in a single season is 56 by Orlando City SC in 2014.
