HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Harrisburg City Islanders will travel to Tennessee and be hosted by Chattanooga FC in the Third Round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday night at Finley Stadium.

This will be the first time the clubs face off in Open Cup history. This year, Chattanooga FC received a bye to the second round, but fought for its second round victory against the PDL’s Reading United AC as they advanced 4-1 in a penalty shootout after the teams played to a 0-0 draw through regulation and overtime.

The City Islanders took a 2-0 win against West Chester United in the Second Round as club captain Bobby Warshaw opened the scoring with his first goal of the 2016 season. Rookie Matthew Bolduc followed suit midway through the contest to give Harrisburg a comfortable victory.

The City Islanders have defeated MLS opposition in the Open Cup on five occasions, including D.C. United in their first appearance in 2007. The side has advanced to the quarterfinals on three occasions, most recently in 2012 when they took victory against both the New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls before being eliminated by the Philadelphia Union.

A contest against the Union awaits the winner of Wednesday night’s contest in the Fourth Round, with the game set for Talen Energy Stadium on June 15.
