Switchbacks Take Impressive Win Against Fusion

Continue strong preseason with 4-0 win against PDL club in California

VENTURA, Calif. – Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC continued its impressive run of preseason form as it took a 4-0 victory against the PDL’s Ventura County Fusion on Tuesday night in the first game of its three-game trip  to California to close the preseason.

Aaron King, Saeed Robinson, Nate Robinson and Luke Vercollone all found the net for the Swichbacks as they continued to build toward their season opener against OKC Energy FC on March 26.

Colorado Springs took the lead just past the half-hour mark as King put home a finish from 12 yards out. The Switchbacks doubled their lead five minutes before the break as Saeed Robinson chipped home a shot from the left side.

Nate Robinson continued his solid run of preseason form with a third for the Switchbacks five minutes into the second half as he controlled a cross at the top of the six-yard area and finished. Vercollone then added his second goal in as many games with 10 minutes to go to wrap up the victory.

Colorado Springs will move on to face USL Western Conference foes Orange County Blues FC on Friday at 1 p.m. PT, and the LA Galaxy II on Saturday at 12 p.m. PT to complete their preseason preparations.
