After Flatirons faltered in Utah, both squads play CISA for the second time this season on Tuesday night.
In the first match of the series, the Flatirons men’s side was victorious in the League Two opener, posting a 5-1 score line against CISA. Flatirons trailed early on, 1-0, but a Miles Seminario goal in the 37th minute tied the score heading into halftime. After the break, the Irons put on the pressure, and took advantage of a tired back line for CISA, scoring 4 goals in the final 20 minutes. Dani Barajas started the scoring off of an indirect free kick inside of the box before Seminario scored two more goals to finish off his hat-trick. Adel Amarouche finished off the night with a near-post tuck in the dying minutes of the game.
Since that match, CISA has lost two more times: 4-0 to Utah and 2-0 to Albion SC Colorado. The lone goal scorer on the season for CISA is Andres Gomes, with his 7th minute strike against Flatirons.
The Flatirons W League side also posted a victory the last time these two teams met–a 1-0 win. The Irons dominated possession and chances, but a lone second-half goal from Sophia Whiddon was the difference in the match.
CISA is 0-4 in the W league, losing 8-0 to Utah United and 5-1 to Albion SC Colorado in the following matches. The club’s lone goalscorer is Rachelle Pinto.
