Superior, CO - Flatirons FC is excited to announce the hiring of Marina Schachowskoj as the USL W League head coach, replacing Jami Cobb from the 2024 season. In 2024, the W League side finished with a 3-9 record, and fourth in the Mountain Division. 

After playing collegiate soccer at both the California University of Pennsylvania and Guilford College, she played professional soccer overseas with C.F. Pallejà of the Spanish Segunda División. Even when Schachowskoj was in college, coaching had always been on her mind, and her first amateur coaching role came in Barcelona, Spain with Sant Cugat FC in the Spain Amateur Division. 

Schachowskoj also has connections to the Colorado soccer scene. Before heading to Spain to pursue professional soccer in 2018, she was the Technical Director for Colorado United for three seasons. After returning from Spain, she was a coach at the Rapids Youth Soccer Academy. 

Eventually, she made a move to the El Paso Locomotive of the USL Championship to serve as an assistant coach and performance analyst. While in El Paso, she was the only female assistant coach within all three divisions of professional men’s soccer in the United States.

Keep an eye out for the two matches against the Colorado Storm (6/8 and 6/19) as Schachowskoj will coach against the team that she played for in the 2016-2017 season.
