SAN ANTONIO – The United Soccer League’s Mid-Year Meetings opened today in San Antonio, Texas as more than 200 league and team executives convened for two days of meetings and social events that will help shape the direction of the organization both in the 2022 season and beyond.

This year’s Mid-Year Meetings mark the first time the event will be hosted independently in a USL Championship market, a significant landmark in the growth of the largest professional soccer organization in the United States. The event will also see the league welcome numerous representatives from commercial and broadcast partners as guests over the two days.

“We are delighted to welcome everyone to San Antonio for this year’s Mid-Year Meetings,” said USL President Jake Edwards. “The opportunity for our staff and team executives from across the country to gather together in-person for the first time in 18 months will be a very welcome opportunity for all of us as we lay more ground-work for the future of all our leagues.”

The Mid-Year Meetings will for the first time include a combined meeting of the Board of Governors from both the USL Championship and USL League One, as well as individual Board of Governors meetings for both leagues. The Championship’s Competition Strategy Committee is also scheduled to meet, as is the USL League Two Executive Committee and Business Strategy group as its 2021 season approaches its conclusion over the next two weekends.

The event will conclude on Wednesday night as attendees will be guests of San Antonio FC at Toyota Field as the side takes on New Mexico United in the USL on ESPN Game of the Week at 9:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
