Championship culminates partnership that saw matches televised to fans in 48 countries outside of North and South America on the new streaming platform

TAMPA, Fla. – The 2020 USL Championship Final between the Tampa Bay Rowdies and Phoenix Rising FC, to take place on Sunday, November 1 at Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Florida, will reach the game’s widest-ever global audience through a partnership with LIVENow.  The Championship Final match culminates a partnership with the recently-launched streaming platform that made the regular season, playoffs, and Championship Final available to viewers in 48 countries outside of North and South America.

The agreement was secured by global sports business agency SPORTFIVE, which partnered with the USL earlier this year to market the international television rights for the USL Championship, and whose experience has already allowed the league to reach more fans across the globe in the 2020 season and beyond.

With the partnership, the USL joined the programming lineup on LIVENow, home to an expanding portfolio of live sport, music, fitness, entertainment and lifestyle content.  Passionate about sharing events as they happen, LIVENow gives fans exclusive access to live-streams that can be enjoyed at home and with friends via the group viewing option Watch Together.

“The USL is eager to announce this partnership with LIVEnow to expand our audience and continue to grow the beautiful game,” said Court Jeske, USL Executive Vice President. “The league is continuing its growth and, as part of that, is excited to showcase the Championship Final to a global audience.”

“LIVENow is an innovative new streaming platform that is bringing premium content across sports, entertainment and lifestyle to international viewers,” said Dennis Spencer, SPORTFIVE Senior Vice President, Media.  “We’re pleased to help introduce more sports fans around the world to the USL and bring a wider global audience to the Championship Final.”

“Delivering live experiences to audiences around the world drives everything we do, but so too does helping them discover something new,” explains Marc Watson, Director at LIVENow.  “We are really excited to be able to give soccer fans more of the sport they love and grow the USL Championship fanbase worldwide.”
