Championship Player of the Month Nominees – September/October

Five players stood above the rest in the final weeks of the regular season, which gets your vote?

TAMPA, Fla. – The USL Championship announced on Thursday the five nominees for the USL Championship Player of the Month award for September & October, with top performers from the final weeks of the 2020 Championship regular season selected for the ballot.

Voting in the Championship Player of the Month Award will be conducted by the following three voting bodies:

  • A fan vote on USLChampionship.com will comprise 51 percent of the poll. The fan vote will run through Monday, October 12 at 12 p.m. ET.
  • The USL Technical Committee’s ballots comprise 25 percent of the poll.
  • The USL National Media Panel’s ballots comprise 24 percent of the poll.

The award winner and complete voting results will be announced on Thursday, September 10.

Please note: The USL Championship Player of the Month selection process in no way is tied directly to the voting and selection process of End of the Year awards such as USL Championship Most Valuable Player or position players of the year.

USL Championship Player of the Month – September / October 2020

Cal Jennings, Memphis 901 FC – Jennings scored a Championship-high eight goals in seven games, averaging a goal every 50 minutes, while recording 12 shots on goal and 17 shots overall to wrap up his first professional season.

Augustine Williams, LA Galaxy II – Williams recorded seven goals in eight games that moved him into second place in the race for the Championship Golden Boot and helped Los Dos into the postseason, while also completing 121 of 164 passes and recording 11 shots on goal and 20 shots overall.

Foster Langsdorf, Reno 1868 FC – Langsdorf ran his scoring streak to seven games – tied for second-longest in the Championship – and ended with six goals in seven games at a scoring rate of a goal every 79.5 minutes while recording 12 shots on goal and 18 shots overall.

Brandon Miller, Charlotte Independence – Miller recorded four shutouts and 19 saves across seven appearances, with a save percentage of 79.2 percent as he helped the Independence reach the playoffs for the first time since the 2017 season.

Dario Suarez, FC Tulsa – Suarez recorded six goals in seven games to help lead FC Tulsa to its first postseason appearance since the 2017 season, finishing with 11 shots on goal and 20 shots overall while completing 116 of 157 passes.
