USL to Recognize Election Day as Company Holiday

Staff given Tuesday, November 3rd off work to vote, volunteer

TAMPA, Fla. – The United Soccer League announced today that Presidential Election Days will now be observed as a company-recognized holiday. This year, the Presidential Election Date is Tuesday, November 3rd.

“We are pleased to encourage all of our employees to utilize this paid time to exercise their vote, and to volunteer at polling places during election day,” said USL Chief Operating Officer Justin Papadakis. “We have been pleased to see clubs within our organization take similar steps and would encourage others to do the same.”

Tuesday’s announcement follows that earlier this year of a new staff program, USL Impact Days, which each year will provide the opportunity for staff to receive an extra paid day off to honor and celebrate any societal cause of their choosing.
