TAMPA, Fla. – The first game at Louisville City FC’s Lynn Family Stadium will also make broadcast history for the USL Championship, with the game set to be the first tricast in the league’s history when LouCity plays host to Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Sunday evening at 5 p.m. ET.

United Soccer League announced on Friday morning the opening game at the new $65 million Lynn Family Stadium against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC would be broadcast live on SiriusXM FC, joining national television broadcasts on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes.

A two-time USL Championship Final-winner, Louisville City FC broke ground on its permanent home in June 2018, and the venue was completed in March of this year. With an overall capacity of 15,304, it is the latest new soccer-specific stadium built by a USL Championship club, a trend that began in 2013 when Riverhounds SC opened Highmark Stadium.

Around 5,000 fans – or 30 percent of capacity – are expected to be on hand for the stadium’s official opening on Sunday evening, with Louisville employing social distancing protocols to help ensure the safety of all in attendance.
