After a weekend of rest, Colorado Rush came to yesterday’s training session with a lot of energy. The players were creating a competitive atmosphere and it showed throughout the session. After being away from the game for six months, Sammy Killiman discussed with us how he felt after his first training session with the team. Killiman stated that, “the team and coaches are all super passionate about the game, which is amazing, and it grows on you. I am super excited to continue to practice here and grow as a player.” This passion and excitement were not only displayed on the pitch with the USL2 team, but with the Colorado Rush youth club team that was in attendance.

Coach Elliot Prost and Lewis Wilcox are continuing to challenge and improve each player’s mental and technical abilities. Bailey Rouse spoke to us about his thoughts on the main focus of yesterday’s training session stating that, “Elliot kept preaching us to continue to work on playing quicker and playing forward with a purpose. Looking to break the lines with our passes and attacking forward.”

With Rush Soccer Club President Tim Schultz and a team from the youth club being in attendance, Rouse also had some words to say. Rouse explained, “It was awesome and special to see our club president Tim out there. Having him out at training shows how special this USL2 program is for the franchise, youth club, and Colorado overall. As far as the kids, I loved that they were there engaged and watching us train. Their support is what makes it even more exciting for us.”

Coach Prost mentioned, “yesterday was a good training session. We need to continue to get more out of the training and it starts with everybody’s attitude and continues with everybody’s work. Keep pushing yourselves.” As the training sessions continue to progress throughout the summer, we will continue to see these players’ development grow and the competition rise.
