GET TO KNOW EL PASO LOCOMOTIVE FC BEFORE THURSDAY'S MATCH

Austin, TX (October 9, 2019) Austin Bold FC heads west to take on fellow Texas side El Paso Locomotive tomorrow at 8:00 PM in a crucial match. Both clubs are tied in the standings with 46 points. Either an Austin or El Paso victory clinches a spot in the 2019 USL Championship Playoffs for the winning team. The only previous meeting ended with a 0-0 draw at Bold Stadium.

Thursday's match is the first since the passing of Bold forward Promise Isaac. The Nigerian international passed away at his apartment on Oct 2. USL Championship, Real Monarchs SLC, and Austin Bold agreed to reschedule last weekend's match. Austin's previous game was a come from behind 1-2 victory at Providence Park against Portland Timbers 2.

Mark Lowry and the Locos have firmly planted themselves in the USL Championship playoffs conversation. Recent wins against Fresno FC, Sacramento Republic, and Colorado Springs Switchbacks; sees the west Texas side one win away from guaranteeing a playoff spot.

Bold Head Coach Marcelo Serrano will need to crack open El Paso's stingy defense. Led by Logan Ketterer; the Locos defense has the fourth most clean sheets in the USL Championship. The record may be impressive, but in their ten most recent matches, they've conceded on six occasions. The last time The Bold failed to score was on July 19 and look to continue that record to a playoff spot.
