Long-range finish in victory against Kickers claimed top spot in weekly poll

TAMPA, Fla. – Orlando City B midfielder Serginho has claimed the USL League One Fan’s Choice Goal of the Week for Week 9 of the league’s inaugural season as his tremendous long-range finish in OCB’s victory against the Richmond Kickers at Montverde Academy took top spot in the weekly online poll.

Serginho’s first goal for the club helped OCB to its second consecutive victory as he struck in the 27th minute against the Kickers. Picking up possession after a challenge at the top of the penalty area, the Brazilian took a moment to set himself and then unleashed a powerful blast from 30 yards that found the top-left corner of the net.

Serginho’s goal earned 50 percent of the poll conducted online at USLLeagueOne.com that concluded on Thursday lunchtime, narrowly edging out North Texas SC’s David Rodriguez on 47 percent for his first-time finish against Forward Madison FC that served as Rodriguez’s first goal in the professional ranks. The Richmond Kickers’ Josh Hughes finish third for a well-taken volley in the second half of his side’s trip to Orlando City B.
