TAMPA, Fla. – Lansing Ignite FC goalkeeper Kyle Ihn has claimed the USL League One Fans’ Choice Save of the Week for Week 7 of the 2019 season as his sharp denial of a close-range header against Greenville Triumph SC last Saturday night top spot in the online poll that concluded on Friday lunchtime.
A former member of Championship side Reno 1868 FC, Ihn parried a close-range header from Greenville’s Evan Lee over the crossbar in the opening minutes of his third appearance of the season for the club, helping Ignite FC earn a 1-1 draw against its fellow playoff contender at Cooley Law School Stadium.
Ihn’s save garnered 45 percent of the poll conducted online at USLLeagueOne.com that concluded on Friday morning. Toronto FC II’s Kevin Silva finished second on 38 percent for his low save on a tremendous solo effort on goal by Tormenta FC’s Lucas Coutinho, while Forward Madison FC’s Brian Sylvestre took third with an acrobatic save that kept out a long-range effort by Chattanooga Red Wolves SC’s Vangjel Zguro.
