OTTAWA, ON – As many W-League players are returning to their respective NCAA schools in preparation for their upcoming season, three members of the Ottawa Fury's W-League squad will continue training throughout August for the upcoming W-League Combine in Tampa, Florida.
Fury veterans Jennifer Hance and Sari Raber along with Fury Youth graduate Jasmine Phillips will all take part in the W-League combine, running Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, September 27 in the hopes of catching the attention of WPS coaches and other professional soccer scouts.
Jennifer Hance had another stellar season with the Fury, tallying four goals this season. She continued to be a dominant force in the central midfield for the Fury. Hance's work ethic at both ends of the pitch helped the Fury's dominance of set pieces in both the attacking and defensive fields of play.
Coming off her best offensive season with the Fury, Sari Raber will look to carry her confidence over into the Combine after notching five goals and four assists on the season.
After graduating from the Fury Youth program, Jasmine Phillips went on to set numerous NCAA and school records for the University of Maine and returned to play for her hometown W-League club this season. Phillips helped lead a stingy Fury defense to their sixth consecutive division title, posting an 8-1-2 record with four shutouts and 0.77 goals against average. Her eight wins ranks third amongst W-League goalkeepers.
Also heading to the Combine is former Fury W-League player Marie-Eve Nault, who has spent the last two seasons with FC Indiana.
