Played for IK Oddevold in Uddevalla, Sweden.

Was a standout at Long Island Univ and was a member of the Northeast Conference championship squad which competed in the NCAA College Cup, Couvillion was tabbed second team All-NEC as a senior. He was part of a defense which was tops in the league and 40th in the nation with a 0.99 goals-against average.

Also a second team All-NEC pick in 2003, Couvillion helped the Blackbirds notch 24 shutouts over his four-year stint.
