In his high school career at
Shawnee , he netted 25 goals and had 62 assists. His Mt. Laurel Raptors club squad has appeared in one New Jersey State Cup finals and has made two semi-finals appearances. The team also claimed the 2006 Score at the Shore and 2006 Potomac Memorial Day Tournament titles. The 2006 Shawnee team claimed the 2006
New Jersey state title, were Coaches Cup champions and won the Olympic Conference title. The team was rated as the top team in the state and as high as fourth in the nation by Student Sports. The National Soccer Coaches Association of America ranked the team as number ten in the country. Shawnee went 27-0-0 to set the New Jersey record for victories in a season and become the first team in the history of
South Jersey to go undefeated and untied. In the state finals, Franks helped rally his team from a two-goal deficit by scoring twice and setting up the game-winner.
College:
Named First Team All-New Jersey by the Newark Star Ledger and First Team All-South Jersey by the Philadelphia Inquirer, Camden Courier Post and Burlington County Times. A first team all-conference selection, Franks scored 13 goals and had 34 assists as a senior.
