Professional Experience and Honors: 2007: Smith made his first start with the Kickers on June 30th, playing 55 minutes for the team that edged the Harrisburg City Islanders, 1-0. Earlier in the season, Smith made appearances with the Kickers during exhibition matches against Virginia Tech (May 1st) and DC United (June 19th), netting a goal and three shots against the United reserves. Overall, Smith made six starts in 13 games played, adding two assists on the season. 2006: Previously, Smith spent time in the Jamaican National Premier League, the first division soccer league in Jamaica with Seba Untied F.C., based in Montego Bay, St. James. During the 2006/2007 campaign, he was a top 10 goal scorer in the league comprised of 12 teams with 10 goals on the season.
International Experience and Honors: Additionally, Smith has worn his National Team’s colors, leading “The Reggae Boyz” during the Digicel Caribbean Cup during 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup qualification. The Digicel Cup is the Caribbean Qualification to the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup that took place in the US last month. The defending champions, Jamaica, failed to advance past the group stages this year despite a 2-0 win against Haiti and a 4-0 win over St. Lucia last fall with Smith tallying three of Jamaica’s six goals in the two games.
