Professional Experience and Honors:
2008:  Joining the defensive unit mid-season on loan from the New York Red Bulls (MLS), Gilkerson made seven appearances with the Kickers.  Gilkerson signed a developmental contract with the Red Bulls, prior to the 2008 season out of Winthrop University. 

College Experience and Honors:
Gilkerson signed a developmental contract with the Red Bulls, prior to the 2008 season out of Winthrop University.  The native of Winchester, Virginia concluded his collegiate career named to the All-Big South First Team for his junior and senior seasons.  In 2006, he was named to the NSCAA All-South Atlantic Region Team.  One year later, he started all of the 18 regular season games played, netting one goal and two assists while leading a defense that conceded just 13 goals all year.  He also brings USL experience to the Kickers, having spent the 2006 and 2007 seasons with the Hampton Roads Piranhas of the Premier Development League.
