LAST CLUB: Richmond Kickers

Professional Experience and Honors:
2007:
A stalwart on the Kickers defensive unit for eight seasons, Knight appeared in seven games during the 2007 campaign, holding the opposition at just four goals allowed while on the field.  He garnered USL2 Team of the Week honors in May for his solid defensive efforts during the teams 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace Baltimore before retiring from professional soccer mid-season to pursue a career as a firefighter.
2006: A seasoned veteran and team captain, Knight reassumed a role in the central midfield mid-season after anchoring the back line for the past three seasons.  Knight started 15 of 15 games played despite injury which forced him to the sideline for several weeks.  Responsible for one assist on the season, he notched his only goal during the Kickers 4-2 win in Charlotte on May 12th and was named to the USL2 Team of the Week twice (5/22/06, 7/17/06).
2005: Knight started and played all but one game in 2005, logging 3,099 minutes.  He recorded one assist in the 3-1 season home opening victory over Atlanta and garnered USL First Division Team of the Week honors twice (4/26/05, 8/02/05) for his consistent solid defensive play.
2004: Knight was one of only two Kickers to play every minute of every game this season.  Totaling 3,147 minutes in 33 games played, he recorded two goals, both game-winners.  He was named to the A-League Team of the Week twice for a heroic save in a 1-0 win over Charleston on June 12th and a game-winning overtime goal in Charleston on August 6th.
2003:  Kevin spent the year alternating between defense and the midfield.  He recorded 1,879 minutes in 23 games and also tallied two goals over the course of the season.  He is one of just four current players to have amassed 10,000 minutes played in a Kickers uniform.
2002:  Due to an early season injury to defender Chris Brown, Kevin played the majority of the 2002 season as a central defender.  He started 34 of 36 games and was second on the team in minutes with 3,337.  His lone goal came in a 4-1 win over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds on May 11th.  He was also named to the A-League Team of the Week on June 4th for his solid play in a shutout win against the Atlanta Silverbacks on June 1st.
2001:  Kevin again was the iron man of the midfield leading the Kickers in minutes played with 2,823 after starting 31 of 32 games played (missing only one game throughout the 2001 season).  He contributed offensively with two goals and two assists (one of them a game winner against 2nd Round US Open Cup foe, the Reading Rage) as well as garnering Team of the Week honors for his heroics in a mid-season match-up against Central Conference rival Atlanta Silverbacks, a game in which he received three stitches from a blow to the head.
2000: After the 2000 season, Kevin Knight was selected as the Supporter’s MVP by the fans for his solid play and community involvement.  The versatile midfielder-defender started 31 of 32 games for the Kickers, which set a franchise record, and tallied 2,770 minutes (second most on the team behind GK Mike McGinty).  In that time Kevin was also an offensive spark finishing third on the team in scoring with 3 goals and 5 assists for 11 points.
1999:  Prior to his stint with the Kickers, the NY/NJ MetroStars picked Kevin 16th overall (second round) in the 1999 Major League Soccer (MLS) College Draft.  As a MetroStars defender, he started in 8 of 11 games played, for a total of 732 minutes.  Knight was deemed a versatile and hard-working player.
