Professional Experience and Honors:
2008:  In his second season as back-up goalkeeper with the Kickers, Murphy made six appearances, starting four in goal.  He posted his first professional win on June 29th in the Kickers 3-1 road victory over the Pittsburgh Riverhounds.  Murphy earned his first professional clean sheet during a 5-0 win over Crystal Palace Baltimore on August 9th, making four saves on the night to bring his goalkeeper record to 4-0-0. 
2007: The 6’1” native of Clinton, MD made his professional debut on July 6th in New Hampshire and also protected the nets during the Kickers 3-2 exhibition win over DC United in June.

College Experience and Honors:
Starting 54 games in goal at Mount St. Mary’s University over four seasons, Murphy tallied 83 saves and recorded a 1.36 goals against average his senior year. Named to the All-Northeast Conference second team, he finished his career ranking in the Top-5 in saves, minutes played and shutouts on the program’s all-time lists. Starting all 17 games as a sophomore, he finished second in the NEC with 86 saves and became the first player in the Northeast Conference to earn Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week honors in the same season since 2000. Murphy also has Premier Development League (PDL) experience, defending the ents for the Chesapeake Athletic Dragons (2003-2004), Reading Rage (2005) and Thunder Bay Chill (2006).
